Yes. The new System must have a unified approach to judicial records and data to meet the State’s vision and objectives of better public safety outcomes and better judicial operations through data-driven decision-making.
Court personnel must be able to see a single snapshot of an entity in the judicial system and transparent reporting that can be relied upon by all stakeholders. However, while providing that unified structure, judicial records will remain unique, separated by court (as applicable), protected against unauthorized access, and portable. We have accounted for the data migration that will be necessary to support the System and more information about those data migration efforts will be provided in the upcoming months. At no time, though, will JC/AOC – or its vendors – become the custodian of any judicial records or data and any migrations will occur in partnership with pilot counties and courts.
